With its roomy 1.2-cubic-foot capacity, this 1,200-watt Panasonic microwave uses the power of Inverter technology to deliver even, consistent, and thorough heat to your food. While many microwaves cause uneven cooking at lower power levels by firing at full force and then letting food sit, the Inverter models from Panasonic actually adjust power output according to your programming. Foods heat more evenly, with a minimum of icy centers and hot spots. This family-size model features 10 power levels, in addition to turbo defrost and auto reheat. Other auto-cook buttons--there are nine in all--include popcorn, bacon, beverages, rice, and frozen entrées. You can custom-set these while auto cooking by adding or subtracting intervals of time according to preference. To cook by weight, you simply enter food weight before cooking, using the metric or the imperial scale. In addition to all these options, Panasonic remembers the staples, too, like a clock, timer, delayed start function, and quick-minute button. The unit comes equipped with a child-safety lock and opens with a pull handle.
